Doug Scott is a global leader in entertainment and brand marketing. He is the Co-Founder and Chief Managing Director of Subnation, the leading media platform for the culture of gaming and lifestyle of esports as well as a General Partner in Surround Ventures. He is also Founding Partner of Culture Group, an entertainment marketing agency based in Singapore, which manages integrated esports programs for Globe Telecom, Riot Games, Nike, ESPN and Tencent among others.

Prior to founding Culture Group, he served as EVP Marketing & Brand Solutions for Endeavor, where he was responsible for developing and producing innovative and successful marketing platforms for Fortune 100 brands. Some of his most notable work includes an unprecedented 20 year partnership between Rolex and the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences; the establishment of BLAST, the first esports All Star team for Bud Light; a collaboration between Cadillac and The Warhol Museum to create Letters to Andy, a traveling content and art exhibition; T-Mobile’ Esports Strategy; and Zoolander Returns to the Runway, a live experiential campaign to announce Zoolander2 during famed designer Valentino’s Fashion Show in Paris.

Along with Doug’s work in Global Brand Partnerships, he also supported all of the marketing needs across the Company’s Events, Properties, Licensing and Talent divisions including projects such as ELEAGUE, Miss Universe, The Miami Open, Professional Bull Riders, Color Run, Frieze Art Fair, and Serena Williams, to name a few.

Before Endeavor, Doug was Founder and President of WPP’s OgilvyEntertainment where he created groundbreaking branded content programs and landmark collaborations for world-class companies. Under his leadership, OgilvyEntertainment grew to be an industry pioneer, working with Brands to “tell stories that matter.” Programs and partnerships Doug established and led include The Power of Shunya for DuPont with Times Television Network; Extra Cold Music Festival for Castle Lite; Dare Bigger for DuPont Kevlar with ESPN X Games, and 100 Years for Hellmann’s with Mario Batali.

For two consecutive years, Scott was recognized by AdWeek as one of the top 50 most influential executives in the media and entertainment industry and served as Jury President of the Branded Content & Entertainment category for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. He has earned over 60 awards for creativity and effectiveness from competitions like Cannes Lions, London International Awards, Effie Worldwide, CLIO Awards, The Webby’s and The One Show.

Doug is known for his work as a content pioneer and cultural provocateur. He Executive Produced Andy Warhol: Fifteen Minutes Eternal, a documentary about the celebrated pop artist’s life, and was nominated for an Emmy for Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and aired on CNN.

With a strong vision for the future of media and importance of brand narratives, Scott has informed major industry conferences, leadership presentations, and white papers, such as Making Magic, Using Logic: The Ogilvy Branded Entertainment Assessment Model™. As a member of the Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide Creative Council, Doug advocated for brands to “own content not rent media” and worked with the global network of creative directors to implement market-driven content strategies on behalf of clients.

He is the Co-Founder of the Museum of Advertising and an active member and advisor to some of the most innovative technology and entertainment start-ups including Decentric Media, The Gaming Society, Miss Grass, Farmaleaf, XRL and Global Environment Media. Doug is an active industry speaker and has guest lectured at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, NYU Stern School of Business and UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Scott is the father of two wonderful kids – his daughter Sydney and his son Ollie.
